Microsoft's own routes

In the Microsoft privacy dashboard you can view, delete or export your Copilot activity history; the export downloads a comma-separated values file to your device (Microsoft: manage your Copilot activity history). It arrives at once, which the other services cannot match, but a CSV of activity is not the same as a conversation you can read or send.

For the Copilot app on Windows, Microsoft has described an export button on responses longer than 600 characters that creates a Word, PowerPoint, Excel or PDF file (Windows Insider blog, October 2025). That covers one answer, and we could not confirm the same control on copilot.microsoft.com in a browser.

One chat as a file, with Backup My AI Chat

Add Backup My AI Chat to Chrome or Edge and open the conversation on copilot.microsoft.com.
Press Export and choose PDF, Word, Markdown, text, JSON or image.
To keep only some messages, or one answer, use Export this response under the answer or Custom Export.

Headings, lists, tables, code blocks and links keep their formatting. Files are made in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Why there is no Auto-save for Copilot

Auto-save reads a service's conversation list in the background and writes each chat to a folder. For Microsoft Copilot that is not built, so Copilot chats are exported one at a time, when you ask. If you need a standing copy, Microsoft's activity export is the route for the whole history, and the Bulk Export page in Backup My AI Chat can turn Copilot chats you have exported into PDF or Word files together later.

Limits to know

What Backup My AI Chat does not do

It runs in desktop Chrome and Microsoft Edge. There is no phone, Firefox or Safari version. In Brave and other Chromium browsers, Auto-save has not been tested yet.
It reads the chats in the account you are signed in to. It cannot bring back a chat that is already deleted.
Auto-save runs while the browser is open. A run that fell due while the browser was closed is caught up when it starts.
Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek are read through one of their own tabs: Sync now opens one in the background and closes it; scheduled runs save those services only while such a tab is already open.
Each AI service's terms restrict automated access to some degree, and none of them has approved this tool. Check the terms of the services you use.
Microsoft Copilot is export only: Auto-save does not cover it.

Can I export a Copilot conversation to PDF?

Yes. Open the chat on copilot.microsoft.com, press Export in Backup My AI Chat and choose PDF. Microsoft's own PDF export is described for single long answers in the Windows app.

Does Microsoft offer a Copilot chat export?

The privacy dashboard exports your Copilot activity history as a CSV file. It is complete and immediate, but it is activity data rather than readable conversations.

Can Backup My AI Chat back up all my Copilot chats automatically?

No. Copilot is export only. Auto-save covers the other six services.

Does it work with Copilot in Edge, Windows or Microsoft 365?

Backup My AI Chat works with the Copilot web app at copilot.microsoft.com, opened in Chrome or Edge. It does not read the Windows app or Copilot inside Microsoft 365 apps.
